This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Under the guidance of the Dean of General Education, the adjunct instructor is responsible for delivering educational experiences in the classroom, online, and/or in the lab, utilizing various teaching methods such as lectures and demonstrations, and enhancing presentations with audiovisual and technological aids while assessing student achievements.
• Maintain student engagement in the classroom while adhering to an established curriculum/syllabus.
• Foster a positive educational environment that promotes learning and clearly outlines objectives for all learning activities.
• Achieve course and institution-wide student performance goals.
• Manage student behavior effectively in both classroom and online settings.
• Observe and assess students' performance.
• Identify and refer students who are "at risk" of not succeeding to the Student Success Coordinator.
• Provide continuous student advisement and academic counseling through tutoring and mentoring on an individual basis as necessary.
• Evaluate tests and projects, maintain grade books, monitor attendance, and fulfill other administrative responsibilities as required.
• Administer oral, written, or performance assessments to gauge progress and evaluate the effectiveness of training.
• Engage in ongoing conferences, seminars, and training sessions (including 2 educational in-services, 1 distance education in-service, and proof of at least 2 professional development activities annually).
• Contribute to and participate in academic committees aimed at enhancing both programs and student experiences.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• A Master’s degree or higher from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) is required.
• At least 15 credit hours or the equivalent in the relevant subject area is required.
• Candidates from Georgia, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia must possess a Master’s degree in the discipline or a Master’s degree in any field with 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework pertinent to the discipline.
• A minimum of two years of practical experience in the course content area with a related degree, or three years of practical experience if the degree is in an unrelated field is necessary.
• At least three years of experience as an educator is preferred.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English.
