
Act 60 & Tax Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Puerto Rico.
• Support the onboarding process for Act 60 clients
• Collect necessary documentation for Act 60 applications
• Prepare and submit Act 60 applications via the DDEC Portal
• Compile annual Act 60 compliance reports along with supporting documentation
• Track Act 60 deadlines and compliance obligations
• Collaborate with clients concerning their decree responsibilities
• Prepare Individual Income Tax Returns for Puerto Rico
• Assist with Corporate Income Tax Returns for Puerto Rico
• Calculate estimated tax obligations
• Investigate Puerto Rico tax-related matters
• Prepare U.S. Individual Income Tax Returns
• Assist with tax notices and manage client communications
• Represent clients before Hacienda as permitted
• Follow up on tax notices
• Aid in certifications, registrations, and government communications
• Address client concerns with Puerto Rico government agencies
• Conduct bookkeeping tasks
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
• Maintain general ledger entries
• Prepare financial statements
• Review and evaluate Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow reports
• Assist with closing processes at month-end and year-end
• Support projects aimed at accounting cleanup
• Ensure effective communication with clients
• Maintain precise records in TaxDome and internal systems
• Meet deadlines while managing multiple client engagements
• Elevate complex issues to the Senior Lead
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Experience in a CPA firm based in Puerto Rico
• Proficiency in Expert Tax software
• Understanding of Puerto Rico tax regulations and compliance standards
• Experience in preparing Individual Income Tax Returns for Puerto Rico
• Excellent communication and client service abilities
• Must be a resident of Puerto Rico
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
• Willingness to travel across Puerto Rico for client and Hacienda meetings
• At least 4 years of experience in accounting
• Preferred experience with Act 60 incentives
• Preferred experience in preparing and submitting Act 60 applications via the DDEC Portal
• Preferred experience in preparing Corporate Income Tax Returns for Puerto Rico
• Preferred experience in handling Hacienda notices and providing client representation
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
• Tax Preparer License is preferred
• CPA candidate is preferred
