Accounting Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the daily development and performance management of junior accountants — providing coaching, training, and immediate feedback as a primary approach, rather than a last option.

• Conduct regular check-ins that emphasize growth rather than merely tracking task completion.

• Proactively identify skill deficiencies and address them through targeted training and direct discussions.

• Address challenging performance discussions swiftly and directly — healthy conflict is an integral part of Brigade's culture.

• Assist in the onboarding process for new team members as the firm expands.

• Review and oversee the full-cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of small to medium-sized business clients based in the US.

• Manage month-end and quarterly closing processes with precision and consistency.

• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex accounting queries and client concerns.

• Foster strong client relationships through proactive and clear communication.

• Review the work of junior team members prior to client delivery.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of full-cycle accounting experience with US-based clients in an outsourced, multi-client, or service-oriented setting.

• Proficient in both Spanish and English.

• Demonstrated experience in independently leading a team, with direct accountability for personnel development and performance management.

• Active and confident user of QuickBooks Online; QBO certification is preferred.

• Comfortable providing direct feedback and addressing difficult conversations head-on.

• Communicates with precision and clarity — your responses do not necessitate multiple follow-up questions to clarify.
