This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Review printed and digital materials that are not accessible through assistive technology.
• Edit documents produced by assistive technology for precision and formatting.
• Retrieve and arrange both electronic and physical files.
• Perform minor research when websites or platforms are not accessible.
• Compose business documents, including letters, memoranda, and reports.
• Assist with timekeeping and personnel-related documentation.
• Provide support for clerical tasks such as document preparation and filing.
• Interpret and articulate visual materials like graphs and charts.
• Distill and summarize extensive or intricate content.
• Communicate and collaborate consistently with the supported employee.
• Organize tasks in accordance with the employee’s work schedule.
• Utilize Microsoft Office and Windows-based software applications.
• Operate assistive technology tools as necessary.
• Uphold the confidentiality of personal and work-related information.
• High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• An undergraduate degree is preferred.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to accommodate Pacific Time work hours, Monday–Friday, 7:15 a.m.–3:45 p.m.
• Familiarity with working alongside blind and low-vision individuals.
• Understanding of reading service techniques for individuals with disabilities.
• Proficiency in English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage.
• Knowledge of assistive technology for blind individuals, including screen readers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Windows-based applications.
• Strong proofreading and editing capabilities.
• Ability to summarize and condense complex information effectively.
• Professional typing and keyboarding proficiency.
• Capability to interpret and describe visual or non-verbal content.
• Skill in conducting minor research and locating inaccessible content.
• Ability to organize documents and perform light filing tasks.
• Understanding of professional terminology.
• Capacity to perform general clerical tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Exceptional verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Background investigation is required.
• Must comply with federal drug-free workplace regulations.
• $5.09 per hour in health and wellness benefits.
