2nd Line Infrastructure Support Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Deliver Level 2 assistance for incidents and service requests related to infrastructure.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365.

• Oversee and sustain core infrastructure services, which include backups, patch management, and endpoint security solutions.

• Examine networking challenges associated with DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.

• Refer complex technical problems to senior engineers or external vendors as necessary.

• Ensure the upkeep of precise technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles.

• Aid in hardware deployments, upgrades, and routine maintenance of the infrastructure.

• Work in cooperation with the Service Desk and broader IT teams to guarantee prompt resolution of tickets and incidents.

• Contribute to ongoing infrastructure enhancement projects and technology upgrades.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in a Level 2 Support, Infrastructure Support, or a comparable technical role.

• Proficient knowledge of:

• ○ Windows Server

• ○ Active Directory

• ○ Group Policy

• ○ Microsoft 365

• Solid understanding of networking principles, including DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.

• Experience in supporting both physical and virtual infrastructure environments.

• Strong skills in troubleshooting and problem-solving.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Valid UK Driving Licence.
