Workplace Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latvia.

📋 Description

• Install, manage, and maintain Linux operating systems, specifically Debian and RHEL distributions.

• Design, implement, and oversee virtualization environments (libvirt) and containerization tools (LXC, Docker).

• Administer Kubernetes (K8s) clusters, including deployments, services, scaling, and troubleshooting within production settings.

• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and services: IP, routing (static, OSPF, BGP), DNS, VPN, high availability technologies (bridging, keepalive), firewalls, and Cisco Meraki.

• Create and uphold secure, high-availability network infrastructure across distributed systems.

• Familiarity with AWS and GCP services along with cloud security principles.

• Configure and manage web servers such as Nginx, Apache, and PHP.

• Handle database administration tasks using MySQL/MariaDB.

• Oversee infrastructure monitoring using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, and Netdata.

• Implement automation through Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline — or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in Linux systems administration and IT infrastructure management.

• Proven hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP in a production environment.

• Strong comprehension of the technologies mentioned above.

• Excellent problem-solving capabilities with the ability to independently troubleshoot complex issues.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively across teams and engage effectively with external stakeholders.

• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities at once.

• Relevant certifications are a significant advantage: RHCE, CCNA, AWS Solutions Architect, GCP Associate Cloud Engineer, or equivalent.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.
