WordPress Security Developer, Anti Spam Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Conduct an audit of the existing WordPress registration and login processes, including all security plugins and custom coding.

• Determine the methods by which bots are bypassing current protection measures (e.g., API exploitation, headless browsers, vulnerabilities in plugins).

• Create and execute sophisticated anti-spam strategies tailored to the website's infrastructure (e.g., custom challenges, behavior analysis, honeypots, rate limiting, or integration with third-party services such as Cloudflare Turnstile).

• Ensure that the solution remains lightweight, offers a user-friendly experience for legitimate customers, and is easy to maintain.

• Deliver documentation and a concise handover to the client.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in WordPress security, particularly in addressing spam registrations and bot-related threats.

• Proficient in PHP and WordPress development (themes, plugins, hooks, REST API).

• Familiarity with contemporary anti-spam methodologies (CAPTCHA variants, JavaScript challenges, IP assessment, browser fingerprinting, etc.).

• Capability to reverse engineer bot behavior and evaluate your own solutions.

• A portfolio showcasing similar projects; please provide links or descriptions of previous work where you effectively minimized spam or secured a WordPress site.

• Exceptional communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
