This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop front-end applications utilizing contemporary JavaScript technologies such as React and TypeScript.

• Collaborate with product and design teams to conceive and deliver refined customer-facing features.

• Enhance code quality by recognizing technical debt, suggesting remedies, and elevating standards for the entire team.

• Engage in learning, mentoring, and growing with colleagues through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.

• Contribute to the design, architecture, and delivery of new features within a collaborative agile/scrum setting.

• Utilize observability and monitoring tools to troubleshoot issues and enhance user experience.

• Create comprehensive tests for each feature and bug fix. Testing is a paramount discipline in this team.

• Construct efficient, accessible web applications that cater to all users.

• Work with QA to bolster automated testing pipelines and CI/CD processes.

• Integrate AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude) to expedite delivery while upholding high code quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and fundamental UX principles.

• Over 3 years of practical experience in Web Development.

• A solid foundation in computer science, including knowledge of data structures, distributed systems, algorithms, and software design.

• A strong enthusiasm for clean code architecture and engineering excellence.

• Experience in building and utilizing REST or GraphQL APIs with modern web frameworks.

• Familiarity with Git and GitHub or similar tools.

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript across the complete browser environment (DOM, events, interfaces).

• Ability to investigate root causes and communicate findings effectively.

• Comfortable navigating the terminal.

• Proficient in an editor of your choice.

• Experience in writing automated tests (Jest, Jasmine, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent).

• Familiarity with profiling tools.

• Understanding of caching strategies and tools.

• Experience with consuming and integrating third-party APIs.

• A passion for sports and/or gaming is a valuable asset.

• Nice to have: experience with IoT or kiosks, Elixir, GraphQL APIs (Absinthe), schema stitching and subscriptions, GCP, Kubernetes, JavaScript SSR, open source contributions, and startup experience.
