Video Editor Intern

Posted Jul 17
This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Create short videos (LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, Instagram) ranging from 60-90 seconds, focusing on sound-off-first with a hook within the first 3 seconds. Multiple videos required each week.
• Support our senior editors in producing long-form content (8-15 minute cam+screen pieces, customer story documentaries, and the Tars 3.0 launch hero piece).
• Take charge of captions, sound design, B-roll selection, color grading, and pacing for your own edits. We expect you to make these decisions independently and justify them.
• Collaborate directly with the founders and the current content team.
• Analyze performance metrics including retention curves, hook drop-off, and comment quality, and adjust your subsequent edits accordingly.
• You have editing experience. This can be from any platform—YouTube, Instagram, freelance projects, college assignments, or a friend’s podcast. The experience pattern is more significant than the specific platform.
• You possess a public portfolio. This does not require a Behance Pro account; simply provide a location where we can view your work without needing to ask. Examples include a YouTube channel, Instagram reel grid, Google Drive folder, or personal website.
• You are proficient in at least one non-linear editing software—Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, or CapCut Pro. We prioritize depth of knowledge over familiarity with multiple platforms.
• You have strong opinions regarding pacing, cutting decisions, caption readability, and the effectiveness of music versus noise. You can articulate and defend these opinions on camera.
• You have a keen interest in AI, software, and the ways businesses leverage technology. While you don’t need to have prior knowledge of the category, a desire to learn is essential.
• You are located in India, available for a 6-month period, and comfortable with primarily asynchronous work while having a few synchronous meetings each week.
• Monthly stipend determined by experience and portfolio.
• 6-month internship with the potential for a full-time position afterward.
• The initial week serves as a paid trial prior to the formal start of the internship.
• Fully remote opportunity, based in India.
• You retain ownership of your personal channels and any work created outside of this role.
