• Provide national and state leadership along with expertise on IREC’s key regulatory policy issues, including interconnection, grid modernization, energy storage, and the integration of EV charging infrastructure into the grid.
• Develop and execute IREC’s regulatory strategy.
• Oversee the creation of national regulatory policy tools, resources, and reports.
• Collaborate with IREC’s executive management to identify and engage new potential funding sources.
• Supervise and facilitate the professional growth of the regulatory team.
• Establish and cultivate strategic partnerships with regulatory commissions, government agencies, and various organizations.
• Represent IREC at various public events and forums.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience and familiarity with public utility regulation, distributed energy resource policy and technology, along with state policy and advocacy.
• A graduate degree in one or more fields related to energy or environmental policy, such as public policy, environmental science, sustainability, law, engineering, or another pertinent clean energy discipline.
• A thorough understanding of the electricity grid and the U.S. energy system.
• Expertise in DER interconnection policy.
• Proven project management skills along with experience in managing staff.
• Strong skills in fundraising and development, including proposal writing and the capability to create and manage budgets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
