This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a subject matter expert for Underwriting risk audits and serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
• Lead involvement in market conduct examinations, reinsurance audits, and Medical Information Bureau (MIB) audits.
• Ensure the effectiveness of internal controls in accordance with company policies, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and industry standards.
• Conduct forensic review audits of underwriting activities and offer guidance to team members.
• Direct the team in gathering data for audits.
• Collaborate with the Claims department and provide insights on contestable claims.
• Analyze and report on mortality and morbidity trends for designated insurance markets.
• Assist the Agent Quality Research Manager as needed.
• Facilitate team meetings and manage special projects.
• Deliver training for new team members.
• Serve as a proxy for management when required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
• A decade of underwriting experience with mortality and morbidity-based products.
• Four years of relevant auditing experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of underwriting practices and industry standards.
• Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
• Exceptional interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities for quality review and data interpretation.
• Preferred: FLMI or FALU certifications.
• Preferred: Experience with contestable claims.
• Preferred: Background in post-issue underwriting.
