This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Denmark.
β’ Translates official Church content as assigned by the Language Supervisor and/or Language Coordinator.
β’ Acts as a human expert in the process, performing post-edits on machine- and generative AI-translated content to align with Church quality standards.
β’ Reviews, edits, and proofreads translations completed by both internal and external translation providers.
β’ Conducts post-production quality assurance for Danish Church publications, including print proofs, video quality assessments, and web publishing usability testing.
β’ Provides interpretation services for General Conference, other Church broadcasts, visits from General Authorities, and official Church events at the Area level.
β’ Involves in language coaching and gives final approval for human or AI-generated voice recordings.
β’ Offers consultation on terminology, localization, and cultural adaptation of Church materials and programs.
β’ Performs additional duties as assigned by the Language Supervisor.
β’ A Bachelor's degree (preferably in linguistics, translation, or a related field) or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience, showcasing a moderate level of expertise, typically seen in professional translators with at least 3 years of experience in the assigned language, along with proficiency in writing, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and syntax of that language; preference will be given to native language speakers who fulfill other qualifications.
β’ Proficiency in both spoken and written English, with an excellent command of vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and syntax.
β’ Capability to navigate translation and business management tools, web interfaces, and to read briefs and instructions, including entering data and managing file uploads and downloads.
β’ Ability to operate effectively under tight deadlines and in potentially stressful conditions.
β’ Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the capacity to provide regular updates on task status to supervisors and other stakeholders involved in the project.
β’ Basic computer proficiency, preferably with familiarity in operating systems and Microsoft Office.
β’ Knowledge of Church doctrine, policies, and ecclesiastical organization is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools is preferred.
