This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Classification Support: Analyze software features to assess whether items are governed by EAR or ITAR and assign appropriate ECCNs, while also gathering information to identify Country of Origin, HTS, Schedule B codes, and Supplier Declaration Forms.
• End Use/End User Verifications: Prepare and gather data to confirm the end use and end user of commodities/services; recognize and address potential red flags and document them accordingly.
• Encryption Review Support: Assist in evaluating software functionality to ascertain if the software employs, develops, or produces encryption, which may necessitate licensing or notifications to the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).
• Technology Analysis: Collaborate with software development teams to facilitate compliant software releases to international clients. Review software source code, object code, and associated technical documentation for export restrictions. Work closely with software development and engineering teams to comprehend functionality for accurate classification.
• License Determination and Application Support: Aid in evaluating whether an export, transfer, or release necessitates a license or qualifies for a license exception (e.g., TSU, ENC) and assist in preparing and submitting export license applications.
• Recordkeeping & Compliance Auditing: Maintain precise and comprehensive trade compliance records and perform export audits to identify risks and ensure compliance with U.S. and international/export regulations.
• Project Management and Coordination: Oversee daily trade compliance operations and coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure export processes remain on schedule and compliant.
• 1-4 years of experience in: (a) trade compliance, customs brokerage, import/export operations, or logistics; (b) BIS license submissions, particularly with deemed exports licenses and software classifications; and (c) Project & Program Management.
• Associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, trade compliance certification, or equivalent practical experience. Relevant fields may include international trade, business, supply chain management, information technology, or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of the EAR (Export Administration Regulations), deemed exports, Technology Control Plans, and FOCI structured organizations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Jira).
• Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills, with a high attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively with legal, engineering, and business teams.
