Telugu Video Localization Expert – Maths

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Localizing English Math videos into Telugu.

• Reviewing and editing KA Math Telugu content and/or creating and localizing new content (videos) as necessary while adhering to quality metrics such as contextualization, cohesion, rigor, clarity, and pedagogical approach.

• Gathering on-ground feedback on content by engaging with state teachers and integrating their insights into the content.

• Examining Telugu Math textbooks to identify any necessary modifications prior to localization.

• Analyzing original material, assessing it, and recreating it in the target language when required, ensuring the preservation of the source's meaning.

• Utilizing state board and NCERT books along with specialized dictionaries, thesauruses, and reference materials to find the closest equivalents for terminology and terms used.

• Conducting research on relevant phraseology to ensure accurate localization.

• Proofreading and editing final translated versions based on fundamental quality parameters including meaning, readability, compliance, terminology, consistency, and linguistics.

• Maintaining and enhancing knowledge in specialized areas of video localization.

• Creating a glossary for specific terminologies to be utilized in Khan Academy’s localization process and continuously updating it with new terms.

⛳️ Requirements

• Passionate about Math and discussing this subject [Comfortable with the subject up to class XII level].

• Fluent in the Telugu language (both speaking and writing).

• A native Telugu speaker.

• Capable of localizing videos in Telugu.

• Experience in video production.

• Having studied and/or taught in a Telugu medium school.

• Experience in online teaching and video creation/localization.

• Tech-savvy and eager to learn about new technologies.

• Proficient in understanding the English language to effectively recreate videos.

• Familiarity with video making and video editing software.
