Technical Translator, Mandarin

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Edit machine translations of Red Hat technical materials into Mandarin, which includes software manuals and knowledge base articles.

• Translate user interfaces for software applications.

• Collaborate effectively with fellow translators.

• Communicate with Red Hat's technical writers, software engineers, and subject-matter experts to enhance and clarify translations.

• Utilize feedback from users of Red Hat's Mandarin technical documentation to refine translations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expertise in translation and strong writing skills in Mandarin are required.

• A high level of experience with Bash is crucial.

• Proficiency in Python is preferred.

• Knowledge of Perl is beneficial.

• Average to basic translation skills and writing abilities in Japanese is an advantage.

• Capability to work collaboratively with a global, cross-functional team.

• Skills in researching IT topics to guarantee precise and high-quality translations.

• Previous experience in localizing software user interfaces and documentation from English to Mandarin is advantageous.

• Familiarity with translation management systems and MT/LLM is a plus.

• Engineering experience is an added benefit.
