Technical Lead, Go/Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Serve as the ultimate authority for technical decisions, ensuring a balance between swift delivery and long-term technical sustainability.

• Design comprehensive end-to-end solutions, documenting technical specifications and selecting the suitable technology stacks to achieve business objectives.

• Oversee technical projects from the initial estimation and discovery phases to final deployment and ongoing maintenance.

• Actively coach junior and mid-level developers, promoting knowledge sharing and upholding high standards for code quality and unit testing.

• Engage directly with clients and product owners to provide strategic recommendations, feasibility studies, and technical roadmaps.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in developing and maintaining robust web-based applications in production settings.

• A demonstrated history of leading engineering teams from project estimation to successful deployment.

• Experience in direct client and stakeholder engagement, effectively bridging the gap between business requirements and technical execution.

• A passion for creatively addressing complex technical challenges and empowering teams to devise innovative solutions.

• Advanced proficiency in at least one of Java or Go, along with Typescript; familiarity with Python is a plus.

• Extensive knowledge of both Relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and Document-based (NoSQL) databases.

• Strong understanding of REST architecture, consumption patterns, and the ability to design intricate distributed systems.

• Practical experience with cloud functions and hosting services, particularly in GCP (GAE, Firebase) or AWS.

• An interest in leading and mentoring developers across various skill levels.

• Bonus Points

• Experience in creating or managing large-scale SaaS (Software as a Service) projects.

• Practical experience in leading projects using Scrum or Kanban methodologies.

• Familiarity with Protobufs, PubSub, or alternative non-REST communication platforms (gRPC, RPC).

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
