This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Lead the technical team by establishing architectural patterns, design principles, and engineering best practices in Java and Python.
• Influence solution and data architecture decisions on AWS, with an emphasis on scalability, security, cost efficiency, and observability.
• Act as a technical reference during code reviews, design evaluations, and everyday trade-off discussions.
• Integrate AI tools (such as code assistants, automation tools, and agents) into the team's workflow to enhance productivity and quality.
• Collaborate closely with Product and other teams in agile ceremonies, assisting in breaking down scope, estimating, and prioritizing tasks.
• Mentor and guide team members, fostering their technical development and career progression.
• Conduct exploratory analyses of environments and technologies, documenting insights and training the technical team accordingly.
• Partner with the team and stakeholders to clearly define and refine product requirements.
• Work in tandem with the DevOps team on deployment, monitoring, and application support initiatives.
• Champion continuous improvements in coding practices and processes throughout the organization.
• Ensure production reliability and quality through monitoring, incident response, and the reduction of technical debt.
• Extensive experience in developing and providing technical leadership in Java and Python.
• In-depth understanding of software architecture (including microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, and system integration).
• Practical experience with AWS services (compute, storage, messaging, networking, and security best practices).
• Familiarity with SonarQube or comparable tools.
• Hands-on experience with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) beyond theoretical knowledge.
• Awareness of AI tools utilized in development and a readiness to integrate them into the team's routine.
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with both technical and business stakeholders, influencing decisions without formal authority.
• Ability to facilitate heated technical discussions in an impartial and constructive manner.
