System Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Architectural Blueprinting: Establish and uphold the comprehensive architectural vision, crafting blueprints for scalable, distributed, and highly available systems.

• Technical Governance: Set technical standards, coding guidelines, and architectural guardrails to ensure adherence across various engineering teams.

• Technology Evaluation: Spearhead the assessment, prototyping, and selection of contemporary tools, platforms, and frameworks (such as deciding between monolithic vs. microservices, or specific database technologies).

• Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with Product Managers, Security Officers, and Engineering Leads to convert intricate business strategies into practical, future-ready technical roadmaps.

• Risk & Performance Management: Perform architectural reviews and root cause analyses to address system bottlenecks, optimizing for latency, throughput, and cost-effectiveness.

• Mentorship & Advocacy: Promote engineering excellence by guiding Tech Leads and Senior Developers, nurturing a proactive and self-sufficient engineering culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional Experience: Over 8 years in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a dedicated System Architect or Principal Engineer role.

• Architectural Mastery: Profound knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, microservices architecture, Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).

• Cloud & Infrastructure: Practical expertise in architecting cloud-native solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including serverless computing, container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Data Architecture: Solid understanding of relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL solutions (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra), with insight into the appropriate application of each model.

• Security & Compliance: Demonstrated experience in designing secure systems, incorporating identity management (OAuth/OIDC), data encryption, and network security layers.

• Language: Proficient in advanced English (fluent verbal and written communication).

• Nice-to-have Skills:

• DevOps Mastery: Extensive experience with CI/CD automation, service meshes (e.g., Istio), and system observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, ELK stack).

• Legacy Decoupling: Documented experience implementing patterns (like the Strangler Fig pattern) to systematically transition legacy monoliths to modern architectures.

• AI/Data Streaming: Familiarity with high-volume data streaming tools (Kafka, RabbitMQ) or large-scale AI infrastructure pipelines.

• Certifications: Relevant professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or TOGAF.
