Staff Solutions Architect – Fintech, Vertical SaaS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Make pivotal architectural decisions for distributed systems and scalable microservices.

• Spearhead backend re-architecture projects to transform legacy systems into a cohesive and resilient ecosystem.

• Enhance system-wide scalability, observability, and performance to accommodate global user expansion.

• Oversee the design and optimization of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis environments.

• Partner with engineering and product leadership to establish the long-term technical roadmap and strategy.

• Elevate engineering standards by mentoring senior engineers and applying best practices for CI/CD, security, and maintainability.

• Architect and support intricate integrations that combine various invoicing products into a singular, seamless experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of professional software engineering experience with an emphasis on high-scale systems.

• More than 6 years of expert-level, hands-on experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.

• Significant experience in designing and scaling Microservices and Distributed Systems.

• Profound knowledge of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis, with advanced database optimization techniques.

• Extensive experience in creating scalable REST APIs for both web and mobile-first consumers.

• Proven ability to drive organizational technical strategy and navigate complex architectural discussions.

• Strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and backend performance optimization.

• Previous roles as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or Solutions Architect are preferred.

• Experience in Fintech, Invoicing, or Payments platforms within B2B SaaS environments is advantageous.

• Familiarity with distributed tracing, logging, monitoring, and contemporary security best practices is a plus.
