This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden.
• Create and execute high-quality, scalable integrations across a range of infrastructure components, applications, and data ingestion pipelines.
• Develop middleware components and libraries that streamline the development and maintenance of observability solutions.
• Represent Grafana Labs in open-source forums, working groups, and events when required.
• Collaborate with product teams, design, and documentation to create features that align with broader product strategies and meet customer requirements.
• Steer the technical direction and vision of the team, actively participating in strategic discussions and the future development of observability solutions.
• Coordinate with other departments, including Sales, Product, and Support teams, to provide a comprehensive product experience.
• Take responsibility for the services you manage by deploying well-tested, clean code.
• Embrace our open-source culture and contribute to projects that may extend beyond your team's immediate responsibilities.
• A robust background with 8+ years of experience in at least one programming language—any major language such as Python, .NET, Java, Go, Rust, etc., is acceptable.
• Proven experience in managing high-scale production systems operating on Kubernetes, including on-call participation, incident response, and postmortem practices.
• Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Grafana).
• Strong knowledge of time-series data, challenges with metrics cardinality, and the trade-offs/optimizations of cost and performance in observability systems.
• Experience in a hands-on technical leadership position, influencing architectural decisions and guiding project teams beyond your immediate team.
• In-depth understanding of distributed systems concepts, such as scalability, consistency, high availability, and failure modes in large-scale systems.
• Proficient in writing clean, maintainable, robust, and high-performance software.
• Experience in managing projects from inception to completion in a self-directed manner.
• Excellent skills in problem-solving and debugging.
