Staff Software Engineer – Databases

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Spearhead multi-quarter technical initiatives from initial problem identification to final rollout.

• Take ownership of the architecture for core Tempo components, including data ingestion, storage solutions, and metrics generation.

• Create APIs that enhance usability for both human users and automated agents.

• Foster operational excellence through the implementation of Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and automation practices.

• Guide and mentor engineers to elevate the team's skill set and improve code quality.

• Proven technical leadership capabilities.

• Extensive experience in building and operating distributed data systems in a production environment.

• Strong emphasis on software craftsmanship and awareness of performance metrics.

• Proficient in Go or other systems programming languages.

• An operational mindset that considers Service Level Objectives.

• Ability to analyze customer-focused problems and deliver effective solutions.

• Demonstrated leadership through effective writing and collaboration skills.
