• Introduce strong software engineering methodologies within a data-centric team through technical design, code reviews, mentoring, testing, and delivery practices.

• Assist data engineers in undertaking more software engineering tasks across frontend, backend, APIs, product decomposition, and ensuring production readiness.

• Work collaboratively across Built to ensure that data products integrate seamlessly with application interfaces, platform functionalities, agents, or customer workflows.

• Leverage customer signals, usage metrics, product feedback, support issues, and discovery insights to inform engineering decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in full-stack web application development, particularly with a focus on backend product engineering.

• Extensive knowledge of TypeScript, Node.js, React, and contemporary web application architecture.

• Proficiency in Python or a demonstrated ability to operate effectively within Python-based systems.

• Experience in designing APIs, defining service boundaries, creating reusable application patterns, and building production backend systems.

• Excellent technical communication skills, including the ability to produce design documentation, engage in architectural discussions, and perform tradeoff analyses.

• A collaborative leadership approach that encourages constructive challenges to product direction and mentors engineers without condescension.

• Preference for customer value over technology for technology’s sake.
