This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take charge of the design, scalability, and reliability of build and pipeline processes across various services and platforms.
• Ensure rapid and dependable feedback cycles for developers by enhancing build times, test coverage, and reporting mechanisms.
• Establish monitoring, alerting, and incident response protocols for CI systems to reduce downtime.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to facilitate seamless integrations and deployment workflows.
• Recognize developer challenges and spearhead initiatives to boost productivity through tooling, automation, and best practices.
• Advocate for CI/CD methodologies throughout the organization to elevate engineering efficiency standards.
• Contribute to and help shape the vision for continuous integration and developer productivity infrastructure.
• Lead and mentor fellow CI engineers, promoting a culture of ownership, collaboration, and technical excellence.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to align CI systems with overarching product and platform objectives.
• Demonstrated experience in spearheading and guiding engineering initiatives in CI, build systems, or developer productivity areas.
• Robust background in contemporary build systems (e.g., GitHub, Buildkite, Artifactory, Bazel).
• Knowledge of cloud-native environments (AWS, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
• Strong programming foundation (Python, Kotlin, Java, or similar) with the capability to influence technical decision-making.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a talent for balancing long-term vision against short-term impacts.
• This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Expertise in managing build systems and frameworks for large monorepos, with a preference for experience in Bazel.
• Active participation in open source projects or prior experience with large-scale software development at a top tech company is advantageous.
