This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Take ownership of the design, scalability, and reliability of build and pipeline processes across various services and platforms.
• Optimize build times, test coverage, and reporting to ensure swift and dependable feedback cycles for developers.
• Establish monitoring, alerting, and incident response protocols for CI systems to minimize any potential downtime.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to facilitate seamless integrations and deployment workflows.
• Recognize developer challenges and spearhead initiatives to enhance productivity through tooling, automation, and best practices.
• Advocate for CI/CD practices throughout the organization to elevate engineering efficiency standards.
• Contribute to and help shape the vision for continuous integration and developer productivity infrastructure.
• Lead and mentor fellow CI engineers, nurturing a culture of ownership, collaboration, and technical excellence.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to ensure CI systems align with overarching product and platform objectives.
• Demonstrated experience in driving and leading engineering initiatives within CI, build systems, or developer productivity domains.
• Strong expertise in contemporary build systems (e.g., GitHub, Buildkite, Artifactory, Bazel).
• Understanding of cloud-native environments (AWS, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
• Solid programming foundation (Python, Kotlin, Java, or similar) with the ability to guide technical decision-making.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities, capable of balancing long-term vision with short-term outcomes.
• This role necessitates either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Proficiency in managing build systems and frameworks for sizable monorepos, with preferred experience in Bazel.
• Active participation in open source projects or prior experience with large-scale software development at a prominent tech company is advantageous.
