This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Assist engineering teams throughout Mimica in creating robust and resilient applications on GKE, providing guidance on best practices and swiftly resolving issues.
• Create and sustain infrastructure-as-code utilizing Terraform and ArgoCD, along with Mimica-specific Platform applications developed in Python.
• Oversee and maintain GKE environments across various regions (EKS experience is also acceptable), including IAM and identity management on GCP (AWS experience is acceptable).
• Analyze and troubleshoot issues in current applications, monitor database and system component health, and implement enhancements to support the SDLC of other teams.
• Assist in migrating our IaC layer from Terraform to Crossplane and facilitate expansion into multi-region clusters and single-tenancy environments.
• Propel FinOps initiatives, aiding us in gaining visibility and control over cloud expenditures across multiple accounts and environments.
• Aid in designing and implementing access patterns for new BYOC and single-tenancy environments.
• Instrument, monitor, and enhance observability across our technology stack using tools like Honeycomb and Grafana.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, preferably on GKE, but EKS, OnPrem, or other managed Kubernetes services are also acceptable.
• Demonstrated experience with Terraform as the primary IaC tool; familiarity with Terragrunt is an advantage.
• Experience in IAM and identity management on at least one major hyperscaler: GCP (preferred) or AWS.
• Proficiency with ArgoCD or a similar GitOps tool for continuous delivery.
• Observability experience with at least one major platform: Honeycomb, Datadog, Grafana, or New Relic.
• Comfortable writing code, especially in Python, to automate platform tasks and develop internal tools.
• Experience in startups or scale-ups: accustomed to ambiguity, rapid pace, and taking on multiple roles.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience in leading and participating in incident response efforts.
