Staff Engineer, Integration Software

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Conduct analysis and documentation of current on-premise middleware interfaces (integration flows, message mappings, adapter configurations, and orchestration processes) to assess cloud migration readiness.

• Design, create, and implement integration flows within a cloud-based iPaaS (Integration Platform as a Service) environment.

• Transform legacy message mappings — encompassing graphical, XSLT, and Java-based mappings — into formats compatible with cloud technologies.

• Transition adapter configurations (IDoc, SOAP, REST, SFTP, JDBC, RFC, AS2, etc.) from the on-premise middleware layer to the cloud integration platform.

• Execute unit testing, integration testing, and provide support for UAT for all migrated interfaces.

• Oversee, manage, and troubleshoot integration flows utilizing cloud operations and observability tools.

• Collaborate with functional business teams across Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, and Manufacturing, along with middleware architects, to ensure business continuity throughout the migration process.

• Create and maintain migration documentation including mapping specifications, technical design documents, and runbooks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of practical experience with an enterprise on-premise middleware platform (process integration or orchestration).

• At least 2 years of experience in developing and managing cloud-based integration flows on a contemporary iPaaS platform.

• Demonstrated capability to work independently with a high level of autonomy and minimal managerial oversight.

• Expertise in Groovy scripting and XSLT for message transformation.

• Familiarity with standard enterprise adapters: IDoc, SOAP, REST, RFC, SFTP, JDBC.

• Strong understanding of integration patterns, including point-to-point, publish-subscribe, and content-based routing.

• Knowledge of cloud business technology platforms and their related services.

• Relevant certification in cloud integration platforms.

• Experience in API Management or event-driven messaging (e.g., Event Mesh or similar broker services).

• Understanding of ERP-to-cloud integration scenarios, especially those involving SAP environments.

• Experience with migration assessment and readiness tools for middleware modernization initiatives.
