Staff Engineer, AI-Native – Full Time Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Technical Leadership: Act as the primary technical reference for the squad and the wider engineering team, ensuring adherence to best practices in architecture, performance optimization, and accessibility standards.

• Solution Design: Spearhead the design and architectural discussions for systems, making critical decisions regarding frameworks, state management patterns, component architecture, and design systems.

• Code Quality: Champion and guarantee the delivery of high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code. Perform regular code reviews and offer mentorship to team members.

• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to comprehend requirements, provide technical insights, and ensure timely feature delivery.

• Strategy and Vision: Play a role in shaping the engineering department's strategy and vision, introducing innovative ideas to enhance our customer-facing experiences.

• Problem Solving: Tackle complex technical challenges, devise innovative solutions, and optimize existing systems for scalability and performance.

• Team Development: Guide and nurture team members, supporting their growth in technical roles and career advancement.

• AI Enablement: Utilize AI-native tools and methodologies to enhance development speed, product capabilities, and engineering efficiency throughout the software lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of software engineering experience, demonstrating a successful history of building and evolving complex, high-scale systems and customer-facing applications.

• Strong full-stack expertise, including proficiency in:

• Frontend: JavaScript, TypeScript

• Backend: JavaScript, Java, Golang

• Proven experience in mentoring senior-level engineers regularly, resulting in tangible outcomes.

• Extensive experience in AWS-based cloud architecture environments.

• Comprehensive understanding of modern software engineering practices, design patterns, and architectures.

• Familiarity with AI-native tools that enhance productivity and speed (Cursor, Make.com, Supabase, Netlify, Claude Code, n8n, Firecrawl, ChatGPT, Grok, Bolt, Vercel, etc.).

• Capability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in designing high-traffic web applications and scalable distributed services.

• Proven experience in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.

• A proactive owner willing to engage in coding and reviewing the work of others.

• Ability to implement customer-facing solutions that address customers' genuine needs, providing exceptional user experiences.
