This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the development, maintenance, and scaling of our data pipelines that integrate data from various internal and external sources into our data warehouse.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to comprehend analysis requirements and consumption trends.
• Work alongside upstream engineering teams to improve data logging practices and standards.
• Engage in architectural discussions and contribute to planning for the company’s evolving data needs as we grow.
• Embrace and promote best practices in data engineering related to data processing, modeling, and lake/warehouse development.
• Provide guidance to engineers and other cross-functional partners on the efficient use of our data tools.
• Possess 7+ years of experience in building large-scale data platforms.
• Background in Data Engineering and/or Analytics Engineering, focusing on scalable data warehouses.
• Proficient in Dimensional Modeling (Star Schema, Kimball, Inmon) and Data architecture concepts; capable of coaching and influencing others to elevate the practice of Data Engineering.
• Excellent collaboration and communication abilities, proven by successful large-scale projects involving multiple teams.
• Advanced SQL expertise (comfort with window functions, defining UDFs).
• Experienced in Python and Spark for developing and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Familiarity with dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or other data warehouses.
• Experience in implementing real-time and batch data pipelines with strict SLOs and complex transformation needs.
• Develop data models, schemas, and standards for event data.
• Optimize data storage and access methods for quick querying.
• Enhance data reliability, discoverability, and observability.
• Knowledge of Data Engineering tools: data ingestion, transformation testing, lineage, orchestration, data publishing, and metric layers.
• Familiarity with storage solutions such as Hudi, Delta Lake, and Iceberg.
• Aptitude for product analysis, dashboard creation, and reporting.
• Understanding of infrastructure tools such as Terraform/Pulumi and experience with Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in AWS cloud services.
• Nice to haves:
• Experience in building streaming applications or pipelines utilizing asynchronous messaging services or distributed streaming platforms like Apache Kafka.
• Knowledge of Airflow or other orchestration tools.
• Experience with Spark or PySpark.
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture and streaming data processing frameworks such as Kafka, Spark, and Flink.
• Experience with time-series databases like Clickhouse or InfluxDB.
