Staff Backend Engineer – Adaptive Telemetry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Lead the development of technical strategy and establish a roadmap.

• Oversee the complete delivery process of significant, cross-departmental projects.

• Manage the architecture, reliability, performance, and cost aspects of essential systems.

• Set Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs) while directing incident response efforts.

• Enhance observability, automation, and operational preparedness.

• Coordinate with stakeholders to eliminate obstacles.

• Mentor and cultivate engineering talent.

• Act as a representative for engineering both internally and externally.

• Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale distributed systems.

• Strong intuition for systems design.

• Practical experience with cloud and platform technologies.

• Ownership of reliability and performance metrics.

• Exceptional coding and design capabilities.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.

• Background in messaging and telemetry systems.

• Ability to influence others without direct authority.
