This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Responsible for conducting administrative technical evaluations of residential appraisals for consumer lines of business to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Tasked with reviewing requests in the Collateral Management System (CMS), YouConnect, and external sources as necessary.
• Analyzing appraisal documents, requesting amendments from AMCs when required, and conveying review outcomes to internal clients and/or collateral underwriters.
• Strengthening processes that ensure loan approvals are backed by qualified collateral for real estate secured loans.
• These processes will encompass the evaluation of valuation providers, credit level reviews of valuation reports, monitoring, loan production methodologies, and addressing discrepancies in valuations.
• Completes all levels of residential assignments, encompassing both non-complex and complex cases.
• Ensures the highest standards of quality and due diligence are upheld regarding collateral.
• Advocates for the bank’s interests on collateral matters when necessary.
• Challenges the initial consumer residential appraisal and evaluation strategies.
• Responsible for managing risk by openly sharing ideas and concerns, raising issues, and adhering to established policies and procedures.
• Committed to always acting in the best interests of customers and colleagues, ensuring that actions and behaviors foster a positive customer experience.
• Achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting various types of risks.
• A state-certified residential real estate appraiser license is mandatory.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in consumer residential real estate is required.
• At least 5-7 years of experience in appraisal review is necessary.
• Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Proven ability to resolve complex appraisal issues.
• Capability to foster strong working relationships within the bank and with external vendors.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel (or similar database reporting tools).
• Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines is essential.
• Strong analytical and communication skills are required.
• Preferred: A bachelor’s degree or other advanced degrees/designations; additional years of appraisal experience may compensate for the absence of such a degree.
