Special Education Auditor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Organize and perform Special Education audits for relevant schools.

• Arrange at least one pre-visit call with each school and relevant representatives.

• Identify special education regulatory variations and access school-specific data repositories.

• Analyze audit procedures and set timelines and travel expectations.

• Act as the K12 resident authority on Special Education audit tools and trackers.

• Prepare detailed audit summary reports that document the process and highlight areas for improvement.

• Ensure that remediation plans include actionable items and established completion timelines.

• Consistently update internal audit tools, workbooks, and Guided Self Assessment templates.

• Collaborate with school personnel, national team members, and portfolio team staff.

• Enhance the efficiency and accuracy of audits.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education.

• Five years of experience as a special education teacher and in managing Special Education programs.

• Experience in the auditing process at the school level.

• Knowledge of Special Education laws, including IDEA, ADA, and Section 504.

• Proficient in Excel and technology skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and Power BI.

• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% within the continental United States.

• Capability to pass a required background check.

• Special Education Teacher Certification.

• Experience as a Special Programs Leader is preferred.

• Preferred experience as a state or district auditor.

• No formal supervisory responsibilities.
