This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Become a member of a dedicated team focused on the most critical processes: deposits, withdrawals, partner integrations, and reconciliation.
• Familiarize yourself with the RAMP codebase, grasp the essential workflows, and implement your first significant fix within the initial 30 days.
• Take ownership of specific features or workflows from start to finish by the third month, with assistance from the team as needed.
• Independently explore and resolve reliability challenges related to deposits, withdrawals, and partner callbacks by the sixth month.
• Decrease recurring problems such as stalled transactions, failed callbacks, ambiguous states, and manual escalations.
• Enhance test coverage across vital workflows and ensure that every area you engage with is improved from its previous state.
• Introduce better observability where it's currently lacking: enhanced logging, alerts, and debugging tools.
• Engage in code reviews, share your insights, and provide support to engineers in your vicinity.
• Expand your knowledge of transaction-heavy systems, including idempotency, retries, state machines, and reconciliation.
• 3 to 5 years of experience with Rails backend in production settings.
• You produce clean code, approach debugging patiently, and are mindful of the impact your work has on real users.
• Proficient in APIs, background jobs, database design, testing, and debugging.
• Methodical in debugging: you trace workflows, analyze logs, and identify the true root causes.
• You enhance code gradually rather than resorting to complete rewrites.
• Bonus: Experience in fintech, payments, crypto, or on-ramp/off-ramp products.
• Nice to haves: Knowledge of transaction concepts such as idempotency, retries, reconciliation, and state machines.
• Experience in a remote startup environment.
