This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +30 more states.
• Collaborate with fellow engineers at Nava to design, evaluate, and develop high-quality software.
• Partner with government associates and other contractors to architect, implement, and enhance new systems as well as existing ones.
• Operate in an agile environment to swiftly deliver new features that align with user requirements.
• Develop tools and processes aimed at automating our development, testing, and production workflows.
• Produce and review technical documentation while conducting code reviews.
• Engage in an on-call rotation to support production systems and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Participate in recruitment activities, such as submitting referrals, conducting interviews, and attending interview debriefs, as necessary.
• Proficiency in Ruby, Ruby on Rails, and JavaScript.
• A minimum of 4 years of full-stack engineering experience contributing to development efforts in a fast-paced, dynamic setting with minimal supervision.
• Substantial experience with web-based systems, covering both front-end and back-end development.
• Experience with large-scale applications and systems.
• A flexible, empathetic, collaborative, and positive attitude.
• Capability to approach engineering challenges with a holistic perspective.
• Understanding of engineering basics and architectural principles.
• Expertise in crafting well-designed software.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, both technical and non-technical.
• Familiarity with contemporary web development frameworks.
• Experience in designing and implementing application architectures and code that are highly scalable, available, and efficient.
• Self-motivated, needing little supervision.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Prior experience as a software engineer.
• Willingness to give and receive constructive feedback.
• Experience with testing methodologies, particularly automated testing.
• Knowledge of code quality tools such as Linter.
• Experience in system design, including creating sustainable systems for high usage and ensuring seamless communication between front-end and back-end components.
