Software Engineer, L3

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Create and implement resilient, scalable routing solutions for Data Pipelines at Twilio Segment.

• Manage complex, always-available distributed systems within cloud environments.

• Work collaboratively across teams, including design, product, and engineering, to establish solutions that optimize usability, performance, and long-term architecture.

• Clearly articulate technical decisions, including trade-offs, customer impact, and team alignment.

• Guide and mentor junior engineers while fostering a culture of technical excellence and ongoing learning.

• Engage in an on-call rotation for our managed services, troubleshooting and enhancing system reliability, debugging issues, and refining operational tools and processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Practical experience with high-scale messaging and streaming systems, as well as processing engines handling several thousand events per second.

• 5-7 years of experience in writing production-quality code in a modern programming language.

• Proficient in programming with Go, Java, Python, or other similar object-oriented languages.

• Experience in operating large-scale distributed systems built on cloud infrastructure.

• Familiarity with delivering services (products) using the CI/CD development methodology.

• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and how to architect scalable and extensive systems.

• Utilize top-tier development productivity practices, including AI tools.

• Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and operational excellence skills.
