This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• In the role of a Software Engineer within the Telco Experience Team, you will contribute to the development and integration of APIs that enhance stakeholder-facing telco journeys, collaborating closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and business stakeholders.
• Work in conjunction with core platform teams focused on supplier integrations and shared infrastructure, playing a key role in projects that define the end-to-end experience of our telco products.
• Your primary technologies will include Go, Kafka, Kubernetes, Postgres, and MongoDB, allowing you to gain practical experience with event-driven systems and contemporary observability practices.
• Support team objectives by delivering well-defined projects that align with established goals.
• Engage in prioritization discussions and proactively identify risks or opportunities as they emerge.
• Design and implement dependable technical solutions that adhere to existing architectures and standards.
• Deliver features and enhancements from the design phase to completion, with guidance from senior engineers.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the products and services supported by your team.
• Collaborate effectively through pairing, code reviews, and team discussions.
• Experience with Go is advantageous, though not mandatory.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Postgres, Kafka, and Kubernetes.
• Significant experience in building distributed systems, including knowledge of concurrency and event-driven architectures.
• A strong grasp of system resilience, observability, uptime, SLAs, and progressive degradation.
• Capability to deliver end-to-end solutions, from design through to build, deployment, and ongoing support.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, Terraform, and modern cloud workflows is essential.
• Knowledge of Kafka and database migrations (e.g., CockroachDB to RDS) is a plus.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to excel in an agile, iterative environment while continuously delivering feature improvements.
• Experience in mentoring mid-level engineers and promoting engineering best practices.
• Comfort in working within autonomous, product-oriented teams.
