Software Engineer – Backend, AI Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Lead and assess experiments, discussing outcomes with an emphasis on effectively implementing tested tools and processes throughout the organization.

• Research and create tools, automations, and processes that incorporate AI models for various tasks, including data analysis, design, and software development.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization to define and deliver new features.

• Specify and shape technical decisions related to the application of AI technologies at iFood.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ability to work efficiently and navigate technical uncertainties.

• Experience in software engineering, particularly in developing backend distributed systems and APIs within large-scale, secure, and scalable architectures.

• Familiarity with authorization, authentication, AI security, and access control mechanisms.

• Technical expertise in AI/ML, particularly with large language models (LLMs).

• Experience in building cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS).

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar.

• Familiarity with utilizing AI agents for coding and efficiently addressing complex problems (e.g., Claude Code).

• Knowledge and experience in developing software that integrates with LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI API), including AI agents, MCPs, RAGs, and other ML model integrations.

• Understanding of the scientific method, experimental design, and data analysis techniques.
