This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Design and develop backend components to efficiently manage large-scale data parsing, processing, and storage.

• Implement and sustain robust workflows for parsing to analyze complex datasets effectively.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow developers to define features and enhance the platform.

• Create and optimize RESTful and GraphQL APIs to guarantee smooth integration with external systems.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate production issues to ensure platform reliability and performance.

• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior developers to encourage team growth.

• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and best practices to suggest and enact improvements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.

• 0-2 years of experience in backend development, particularly with Ruby and related frameworks like Ruby on Rails.

• 0-2 years of experience in Python to assist in the transition of our existing data ingestion from Ruby to the new Python-based pipeline.

• Strong expertise in Ruby and frameworks like Ruby on Rails, with a demonstrated history in full-stack development.

• Proficient in Python, with experience in managing data pipelines.

• Solid experience with data parsing and handling large datasets.

• Proficiency in front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with modern frameworks like Vue.js.

• Practical experience in building and deploying applications on AWS using services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS.

• Proficient in version control systems, especially Git and GitHub.

• Strong understanding of API development, including RESTful and GraphQL APIs.

• Solid knowledge of Agile development methodologies.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to excel both independently and within a team environment.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Docker or Terraform.

• Certifications in Ruby, Python, or related technologies.
