• Oversee the design, architecture, and development of applications based on Java and PL/SQL that align with both business and system requirements.
• Implement and enhance business logic through PL/SQL packages, procedures, and triggers alongside Pension’s proprietary tools.
• Convert functional requirements into robust, scalable technical designs and specifications.
• Lead efforts in performance optimization, scalability, and data integrity throughout the application stack.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and offer technical guidance to developers.
• Execute unit testing and ensure all deliverables meet established quality and security standards.
• Collaborate closely with project teams to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
• Mentor and coach team members to foster best practices and technical excellence.
• Advocate for the adoption of new technologies, automation, and DevOps practices to enhance productivity.
• Establish and uphold application security, data protection, and coding standards.
• Document software architecture, processes, and solutions to facilitate maintainability and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to client implementation projects by providing technical leadership and consulting expertise.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of progressive experience in software development, including system design and architecture.
• A solid understanding of pension plan concepts is a significant advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and Java.
• Strong grasp of relational database design, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.
• Experience with Oracle APEX, Git, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and UNIX Bash scripting.
• Familiarity with database management, data conversion, reporting tools, API integration, and application design.
• Demonstrated ability to lead development teams and mentor junior staff members.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly motivated, collaborative, and focused on quality.
• Previous experience in the pension or financial services sector is beneficial.
