Software Developer, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based applications that support DoD systems.

• Construct and sustain backend services, RESTful APIs, and microservices architectures.

• Collaborate with DevOps, cloud, and data teams to integrate backend services and facilitate enterprise application delivery.

• Engage in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), which includes requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.

• Diagnose, debug, and enhance application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.

• Ensure that solutions are developed in compliance with federal security and data protection standards.

• Contribute to Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automated deployment processes utilizing Git-based workflows.

• Assist in system modernization and cloud migration efforts, including work within AWS, Azure, and/or GovCloud environments.

• Collaborate with data teams as necessary to support backend integrations and data-driven application functionalities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Active Top Secret (TS) clearance is required to start; TS/SCI or SCI eligibility is preferred.

• Over 8 years of professional software development experience.

• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Framework.

• Experience in creating REST APIs and microservices.

• Robust backend development skills, including application design, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and maintainability.

• Familiarity with relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL.

• Proficient in using Git-based version control systems.

• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Capability to work autonomously in a remote setting and communicate effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
