Site Reliability Engineer – Core Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Paraguay.

📋 Description

• Develop data infrastructure solutions that provide self-service capabilities for numerous business units and a large number of engineers.

• Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies to design, provision, and manage infrastructure components both on-premises and in the cloud (AWS) using tools like Terraform.

• Create and sustain automation scripts with bash/shell scripting to streamline operational tasks and deployments.

• Enhance and oversee CI/CD pipelines to ensure consistent software deployments throughout the data infrastructure.

• Implement comprehensive data monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify anomalies and performance concerns.

• Manage and establish role-based access control (RBAC) and permissions for various user groups and machine workflows across multiple environments.

• Utilize Kubernetes and Nomad for managing containerized applications within the data infrastructure, ensuring effective deployment, scaling, and orchestration.

• Establish efficient incident response protocols and participate in on-call rotations.

• Work collaboratively with data analysts, engineers, and cross-functional teams to comprehend requirements and deploy suitable solutions.

• Document architectures, processes, and best practices to foster knowledge sharing and support ongoing improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

• At least 1+ years of proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, Infrastructure/Platform/DevOps Engineer, Software Engineer, or in similar roles.

• Capability to utilize AI tools and agents such as Claude and OpenAI for efficient business value delivery.

• Strong foundation in bash/shell scripting and proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably Python, Golang, or Rust).

• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker or Podman.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to troubleshoot intricate systems.

• Nice to haves: Experience in managing and operating data systems like Kafka, Redis, ElasticSearch, MariaDB, AirFlow, Debezium, ScyllaDB, TiDB, Hashicorp Vault; Experience running Kubernetes as a Platform offering for engineering teams; Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Terragrunt, and Atlantis; Understanding of CI/CD deployment pipelines and related tools; Working experience in managing AWS infrastructure components.
