Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Assist in enhancing system reliability and functionality, playing a key role in monitoring, observability, and infrastructure enhancements.

• Engage with containerized and cloud-based platforms, such as Docker, Nix, and AWS (including ECS and Fargate).

• Create Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, and contribute to various software components: Nix, scripting (Nu, bash, hell), Haskell, along with some experience in Python and TypeScript.

• Take part in incident response efforts and work to improve on-call support, alerting, and incident management protocols.

• Effectively communicate within a distributed team environment, demonstrating ownership while fostering collaboration and ongoing improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in incident management and monitoring, or a DevOps-focused approach.

• Background in insurtech, insurance, or related fields.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Familiarity with working in a distributed team setting.

• You possess a solid engineering background with relevant accomplishments.

• Practical experience with Haskell in production, emphasizing performance, maintainability, and adherence to best practices, or a background in infrastructure, operations, or roles adjacent to SRE, with a strong emphasis on system reliability.

• Proficient with Git, Linux, command line operations, and contemporary software development workflows.

• Keen interest in managing and scaling distributed systems.
