Senior/Lead Back End Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services utilizing Python and Java.

• Assist and play a key role in the gradual transition from Python-based services to Java, ensuring system stability and continuity. Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend integrations.

• Engage in system design and architectural discussions, particularly focusing on service boundaries and migration strategies.

• Work with distributed systems and microservices architectures.

• Integrate third-party services and external APIs into the systems.

• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code in accordance with industry best practices.

• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing sessions.

• Troubleshoot production issues and enhance system reliability, observability, and performance.

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across different time zones.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in backend software development.

• Strong professional expertise in Python (Django, FastAPI, Flask, or other similar frameworks).

• Significant professional experience with Java, ideally using Spring Boot.

• Comprehensive understanding of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and design patterns.

• Experience in designing and consuming RESTful APIs.

• Proficient with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL); familiarity with NoSQL databases is advantageous.

• Knowledge of unit testing, integration testing, and test-driven development (TDD) methodologies.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and contemporary development workflows.

• Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.

• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.

• Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on performance and scalability.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
