Senior Systems Programmer, Healthcare Innovations

📋 Description

• Lead and facilitate the design, development, and execution of sophisticated programming solutions for extensive health research and evaluation initiatives.

• Supervise data management processes, encompassing data extraction, transformation, validation, and integration from diverse sources (e.g., claims, EHR, survey data).

• Create and enhance reusable code libraries, macros, and templates to boost efficiency and consistency across various projects.

• Perform intricate statistical analyses and produce high-quality outputs, including tables, listings, and visualizations for technical reports and publications.

• Offer technical leadership and mentorship to programming teams, including conducting code reviews, providing training, and advising on best practices.

• Work collaboratively with statisticians, researchers, and data scientists to convert analytical requirements into actionable code.

• Ensure adherence to data security protocols and regulatory standards in secure computing environments.

• Assist in proposal development by crafting analytic strategies, estimating effort levels, and writing technical sections.

• Recognize and implement process enhancements to improve data quality, reproducibility, and workflow automation.

• Represent AIR in client meetings and technical discussions, effectively communicating complex programming concepts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, Economics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative field; a Master’s degree is preferred.

• At least 8 years of practical experience in programming, including work with large-scale administrative or healthcare datasets.

• Experience with CMS projects and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams of health services researchers involved in program evaluations and implementations.

• Familiarity with various CMS data environments and platforms, such as Model Space, IDR, CDR, etc.

• Proven leadership in managing programming teams and delivering impactful analytical products.

• Experience in secure or virtual research environments and knowledge of data governance best practices.
