This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.
• Lead the development and management of essential suppliers by employing advanced sourcing techniques and comprehensive commodity management practices for designated Direct Purchasing commodities. This involves a thorough understanding of program lead times, supplier lead times, and production capabilities.
• Drive substantial cost-saving initiatives through competitive bidding, eAuctions, Electronic Catalogs, blanket contracts, commodity planning, opportunity assessments, business intelligence needs, and sophisticated spend analytics.
• Take ownership of and consistently surpass cost savings objectives, while spearheading process enhancement initiatives and ensuring achievement of Key Performance Indicators.
• Supervise and guarantee the appropriate routing of low-value and emergency Purchase Requests in conjunction with the remotely situated Transactional Purchasing Services team.
• Serve as a strategic partner to key stakeholders by cultivating in-depth commodity knowledge and formulating sourcing strategies that align with changing market conditions, pricing trends, and technological advancements.
• Manage the complete Purchasing Sourcing Process, including but not limited to bid list strategy, RFQ development, intricate supplier negotiations, supplier selection, sourcing approvals, and contract or purchase order issuance, while ensuring proper governance and documentation.
• Ensure that all sourcing, contracts, and Purchase Order transactions fully comply with Corporate Purchasing Policies and Procedures, while advocating for best practices throughout the organization.
• Proactively address, mitigate, and resolve complex commercial challenges and risks with suppliers to guarantee business continuity and performance.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and coordination support to fellow buyers, aiding in team capability development and operational excellence.
• Bachelor’s Degree; preferably in Procurement, Accounting, Business, and/or Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in negotiating, sourcing, and managing contracts, with a proven track record in handling complex procurement activities.
• Experience with Direct Purchasing (chassis tools) is advantageous.
• Proficient computer skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and SAP.
• Strong verbal and written English skills (C1 level or higher). Knowledge of another European language is a plus.
• Proven advanced skills in negotiation and stakeholder management.
• High level of organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical capabilities, particularly where problems are intricate and require strategic evaluation.
