• Become a vital part of WISI’s collaborative and customer-centric Sales team as a Senior Solutions Engineer (Pre-Sales), engaging with customers throughout North America by leveraging advanced technical discovery, solution planning, and production deployment support.
• This position is tailored for a seasoned professional with extensive domain knowledge who can work autonomously while collaborating closely with the Principal Solutions Architect.
• The Senior Solutions Engineer (Pre-Sales) is entrusted to steer intricate customer engagements, exercise sound judgment, and confidently represent WISI’s carrier-grade solutions with credibility.
• Assist customer interactions by utilizing deep technical expertise in Linux, networking, video workflows, and WISI solutions to ascertain requirements, design solutions, and facilitate successful deployment.
• Conduct effective technical discovery, pinpointing efficiencies and opportunities within customer workflows, and translating findings into well-structured, well-documented solutions.
• Directly contribute to both immediate project success and long-term commercial prospects.
• Over 10 years of professional experience in the video headend equipment sector, with a solid understanding of workflows “from the bird to the box,” encompassing encoding, transcoding, and transport stream processing.
• Familiarity with many of the following technologies and standards (not all required): IPTV and Cable headend systems; MPEG-2 Transport Streams (SPTS/MPTS); multiplexing; ASI; ATSC 1.0/3.0; QAM; DVB-C Annex B; ABR/OTT; HLS; MPEG-DASH; DRM; EAS; and various video and audio encoding and transcoding formats.
• Significant professional experience with Linux (preferably across multiple distributions), including common administrative and troubleshooting tools utilized in production settings.
• Administrator-level networking expertise, covering diagnostics, routing and switching fundamentals, Layer-3 concepts, and practical troubleshooting within complex customer environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven consultative abilities, including posing insightful questions, clarifying ambiguous requirements, and uncovering unexpressed needs and constraints during customer discovery.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Visio, Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint.
• Established ability to create clear, professional technical documentation and block diagrams suitable for customer validation and internal execution.
