Senior Software Engineer – System Modernization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Implement and refine a gradual modernization approach, carefully transitioning legacy systems into well-defined services while ensuring reliability and continuity.

• Incrementally decompose monolithic systems utilizing strategies such as the strangler fig pattern.

• Oversee the coexistence of legacy and modern systems throughout the transition phase.

• Establish clear service boundaries, contracts, and data ownership frameworks.

• Guarantee backward compatibility and secure evolution of APIs and data during the migration process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience with accountability for production systems and operational enhancements.

• Proficient in backend development (Ruby, Node.js, or similar technologies).

• Strong comprehension of REST APIs, service agreements, distributed systems, and prevalent software design patterns.

• Experience collaborating across backend systems, APIs, and live production environments.
