📋 Description

• Act as the owner of the solution in critical systems within the benefits market, navigating between a highly complex legacy platform (J2EE monolith in WebSphere) and a modern ecosystem of microservices and microfrontends hosted in the cloud.

• You will serve as the technical reference for the team, supporting end-to-end troubleshooting, leading architectural decisions, and helping to elevate the technical maturity of both the team and the client. This role requires someone who can seamlessly transition between legacy code from the 2000s and modern software engineering practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in Java across its spectrum — from Java 8 to 17/21, covering both modern contexts (Spring Boot 3.x, Quarkus for AWS Lambda) and legacy applications (EJB 2.1, Servlets, JSP, SOAP via Apache Axis / JAX-WS);

• Microservices architecture — domain decomposition, API + Orchestrator pattern, asynchronous communication using messaging;

• IBM WebSphere Traditional — deploying, tuning, and troubleshooting EAR/WAR applications in J2EE environments;

• Experience with Oracle databases (primary) and MongoDB; familiarity with PostgreSQL is a plus;

• AWS — Lambda (Quarkus and Node.js), SQS, SNS, S3, ECR, Parameter Store;

• Containers and orchestration — utilizing Docker and Red Hat OpenShift (OCP4) as a deployment platform;

• CI/CD — Azure DevOps Pipelines with shared templates, integration with SonarQube and Veracode;

• Testing — unit testing (JUnit 5 + Mockito), integration (WireMock), and code coverage (JaCoCo); a genuine appreciation for code reviews;

• Clean, simple, and maintainable code (Clean Code, SOLID principles);

• Agile concepts — SCRUM, KANBAN, daily stand-ups, sprints, and reviews.
