Senior Software Engineer, Reliability Experience Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Reliability Experience, Incident Management, Observability, and Resiliency teams to design and develop exceptional user experiences.

• Actively contribute to projects by producing high-quality, tested pull requests and reviewing the designs and code of others.

• Develop suitable tests to guarantee the reliability and performance of the software you create.

• Generate and present your own design, product, and architecture documents while offering constructive feedback on the work of others.

• Keep current with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in web development and performance engineering, especially within the Reliability and Observability domains.

• Approach all tasks with an opinionated mindset, while embodying humility and curiosity, as we take ownership of our roles as product managers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in the industry.

• Proven experience in building internal infrastructure, especially in Data or Observability areas (experience with Prometheus is advantageous).

• Strong collaboration skills with colleagues across various time zones.

• Proficiency in Java, Python, or another object-oriented programming language.

• Familiarity with airbnb.io/visx/ is preferred but not mandatory.

• Experience with Grafana and similar tools is a plus but not essential.

• Extensive understanding of engineering productivity challenges and how to address them.

• Solid engineering and coding capabilities, with demonstrated knowledge of practical data structures and asynchronous programming.

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

• Willingness to explore areas beyond your usual expertise and a drive for personal growth without the guidance of a dedicated product manager.

• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking) is required.
