Senior Software Engineer – Grafana Databases, Managed Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Manage and develop over 100 multi-cloud streaming clusters along with their associated database infrastructure.

• Identify and resolve cross-layer failure modes effectively.

• Create safe upgrade and rollout strategies on a large scale.

• Enhance observability, automation, and operational ergonomics.

• Collaborate with database and platform teams to facilitate scaling and partitioning.

• Engage with distributed systems behavior, Kubernetes scheduling, and storage engines.

• Act as a primary escalation point and be on-call for incident management.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of engineering experience, including roles in SRE, platform engineering, or distributed systems.

• Proven experience in operating distributed systems in production environments such as Kafka, Postgres, or Cassandra.

• Extensive experience with Kubernetes in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

• Comprehensive understanding of distributed systems design and the trade-offs involved in scaling.

• Proficient in at least one programming language, with a preference for Go.

• Knowledge of Linux internals, networking, and cloud storage solutions.

• Experience with blameless incident response methodologies.
