Senior Software Engineer – Front End/Back End

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• The Senior Software Engineer - Front End/Back End acts as a seasoned individual contributor within a team.

• With minimal guidance from leadership, you will be tasked with achieving the objectives related to scope, schedule, and delivery.

• This role significantly influences the long-term objectives of the program and contributes to the execution of the program's development strategy.

• You may take on the role of the primary lead in your discipline when collaborating with stakeholders and leverage strong influencing skills to enhance software engineering processes and practices.

• You are expected to demonstrate expertise, accountability, and ownership of your contributions to the application codebase.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of related technical domains and ecosystems to ensure effective integration with those systems.

• You will diagnose and resolve issues within the systems you manage, using incidents as opportunities for education and system improvements.

• Actively mentor and support junior engineers in their skill development.

• Communicate technical challenges and advancements effectively with team members and clients.

• Participate in technical interviews for prospective candidates.

• Utilize strong influencing skills to propose and assess various approaches to technical and process-related issues.

• May serve as a mentor to team members.

• May lead small, less critical, or temporary team structures and projects.

• Present design documents, system diagrams, and other relevant materials to clients, stakeholders, partners, and fellow engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree and over 7 years of engineering experience.

• Relevant years of experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

• Demonstrates expert-level knowledge in at least one technical domain (including but not limited to front-end, back-end, or infrastructure engineering).
